Bundleware, Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUP) Policy

Quality over Quantity - Many download sites list thousands of software titles, many of which are useless or worse, infected with malware. Right from the very beginning (2010), we wanted to help our users out wherever we could - with clean and easy to navigate pages, good, safe and free software. We have always put a huge emphasis on a worry free software download site, and it's something that we're very proud of. We've kept the same attitude as we've grown. And grown. But as we grew, we noticed that more and more great free software changes into bloated, adware ridden programs.

Starting with February 2016, CodecPack.co adopted a position of ZERO tolerance toward programs bundled with promotional software. We are the FIRST website to do so.

No more OpenCandy, NO annoying toolbars, No spyware, No more PUA/PUP (potentially unwanted application/potentially unwanted program) a software that may be unwanted on the PC and sometimes comes bundled with freeware software (see screenshot below).
