LAME MP3 Encoder 3.101

LAME is a high quality MPEG Audio Layer III (MP3) encoder. A large number of ripping and encoding software programs include the LAME encoding engine specifically Lame Front-End, LamedropXPd, winLAME, LameXP, ...etc. The goal of the LAME project is to use the open source model to improve the psycho acoustics, noise shaping and speed of MP3. Today, LAME is considered the best MP3 encoder at mid-high bitrates and at VBR. Supports MPEG1, MPEG2 and MPEG2.52 layer III encoding. Encodes in CBR (constant bitrate) and in two types of variable bitrate, VBR and ABR3, as well as free format. Supports mono and stereo signals. Stereo signals are encoded by default with an advanced algorithm4 to maximize the quality. Tuned default parameters for optimum encoding. Fast. Encodes to -V 2 at 17 times realtime on a P4 2.8Ghz.
